HearApp is a computer-based tool designed to support individuals with listening challenges in enhancing their hearing skills. The development of HearApp is based on extensive research conducted by BioSpeech, Inc., a biomedical research organization located in Portland, Oregon, specializing in speech and hearing technologies. The primary aim of the application is to strengthen the listening skills of individuals with hearing loss, thereby improving their ability to comprehend spoken language within everyday environments. Context:

In the United States, approximately 35 million individuals experience some degree of hearing impairment. Of these, around 10 million use hearing aids and approximately 67,000 have cochlear implants. To maximize the benefits of such devices, targeted auditory rehabilitation is crucial. However, traditional face-to-face training with specialists can be costly and difficult to access. HearApp seeks to address this gap by providing a practical, user-friendly platform for auditory training that is accessible to both children and adults regardless of location.
